Isabelle Haak
Isabelle Haak is a prominent Swedish volleyball player, currently competing as an opposite hitter for the Italian club Imoco Volley Conegliano and representing the Swedish national team. She has achieved notable success, including winning a gold medal in the Champions League and securing two Club World Championship titles, along with being named the Most Valuable Player (MVP).
Born on July 11, 1999, in Perstorp, Sweden, Haak began her volleyball journey with the youth teams of her local club, Engelholms VS. At the age of 14, she made her debut with the first team in the Elitserien.
Haak commenced her professional career in 2012 with Engelholms VS in the Swedish League. In her inaugural season, she helped her team secure a bronze medal in the Swedish League and a silver in the Swedish Cup. During this time, she also represented the Sweden U19 national team at the NEVZA U19 tournament, where they won a silver medal. Over three seasons with Engelholms VS, she contributed to the team’s victories in the Swedish Cup in 2014/2015 and 2015/2016, as well as the Swedish League titles in the same years, earning MVP honors in both seasons. Additionally, she won gold medals at the NEVZA U19 tournament twice and silver medals at the NEVZA, receiving the MVP award at the NEVZA U19 in 2014.
In 2016, Haak joined Beziers Volley to compete in the French Ligue A. In her first season with the club, she achieved a bronze medal in the French Ligue A, where she was also named MVP, and secured a silver medal in the French Cup. She participated in the CEV Cup and the European Golden League in 2017 with the Swedish national team.
In 2017, Haak transferred to Savino Del Bene Scandicci to play in the Italian Serie A1. In her debut season, her team finished third in the Italian Serie A1 and fifth in the Italian Cup. On the international stage, she won a gold medal at the European Silver League in 2018, where she was recognized as MVP. The following season, she competed in the Champions League, helping her team to a bronze finish in the Italian Serie A1 and the Italian Cup. She also represented the national team in the European Golden League in 2019, where her team placed 12th.
In 2019, Isabelle Haak joined the Turkish club VakifBank. During her inaugural season, the team secured a third-place finish at the Club World Championship and a second-place finish in the Turkish Supercup. In the 2020/2021 season, she played a pivotal role in VakifBank’s success, contributing to their silver medal achievement in the Champions League, where she was recognized as the Best Scorer. Additionally, she helped the team achieve a double victory in Turkey by winning both the Turkish Cup and the Turkish Kadinlar Voleybol Ligi, earning the title of MVP. Haak also represented the Swedish national team, qualifying for the 2021 European Championships, where they finished in eighth place. In the 2021/2022 season, VakifBank dominated all competitions, clinching titles in the Turkish Cup, the Turkish Kadinlar Voleybol Ligi, and the Turkish Supercup. Her most significant accomplishments that season included winning the Champions League and the Club World Championship, for which she was named MVP. Furthermore, she celebrated victory with the Swedish national team at the European Silver League in 2022.
In 2022, Isabelle Haak transferred to the Italian volleyball club Imoco Volley Conegliano. In her first season with the team, she achieved remarkable success, completing a treble by winning the Italian Serie A1, the Italian Cup, and the Italian Supercup, along with the Club World Championship. The team finished fifth in the Champions League. Additionally, she helped the Swedish national volleyball team secure a second-place finish at the European Golden League in 2023.
In 2023/2024 season, Isabelle Haak continue gaining achievements with Prosecco Doc Imoco Volley Conegliano. The team won the Italian Serie A1, Italian Supercup, and Italian Cup, but also triumphed in the Champions League, where was awarded MVP. With Swedish national team she won the gold at the European Golden League 2024, being awarded the best scorer and MVP.
During the next 2024/2025 season, Isabelle Haak remained to be a top player for Prosecco Doc Imoco Volley Conegliano, winning Club World Championship and Italian Supercup.
