Georgina Antonakaki

Georgina Antonakaki is a professional volleyball player from Greece, excelling in both indoor and beach volleyball. She serves as a Libero for Panathinaikos, a club competing in the Greek A1 Etniki. In the 2023/2024 season, she received the Best Digger award at the Greek Nomikeia Championship, contributing to her team’s bronze medal achievement. Additionally, she secured a silver medal in both the Greek A1 Etniki 2022/2023 and the BVA Cup 2023/2024.

Born on September 2, 2002, Georgina began her volleyball journey in her childhood, quickly demonstrating her talent.

Her competitive career commenced in 2017 with the Greek volleyball club G.E. Herakleion, where she participated in the Greek A2 Etniki. Recognized as one of the most promising talents in Greek volleyball, she also engaged in beach volleyball, representing Greece in international competitions. Notably, in 2019, she competed in the European Beach Volley Championships U18 alongside Ioanna Perdikaki, achieving a 7th place finish.

In 2020, she joined AS Asklipios Trikalon to continue her career in the Greek A2 Etniki. Shortly thereafter, she was recruited by AO Lamia 2013 to compete in the Greek lite league A1 Etniki and the Greek Cup.

In 2021, Georgina Antonakaki signed with another prominent volleyball club in Greece, AON Pannaxiakos, where she played for a single season. The team concluded the season in 10th place in the Greek A1 Etniki and 5th in the Greek Cup. Concurrently, in beach volleyball, she participated in the Greek Championships 2021 and the European Championships U20 2021 with Ioanna Perdikaki, finishing 5th in both events.

In 2022, Georgina Antonakaki joined Olympiacos, the Greek vice-champion, for a one-season contract. During her time with the team, she secured a silver medal in the Greek A1 Etniki and achieved a 5th place finish in the CEV Cup. In beach volleyball, she placed 17th at the U22 European Championships and 13th at the Women’s World Tour event held on Ios Island, partnering with Ioanna Perdikaki.

In 2023, Georgina Antonakaki signed with AO Markopoulo, where she contributed to the team’s success in winning the bronze medal at the Nomikeia Cup and earned the title of Best Digger at the championships. Additionally, in beach volleyball, she and Ioanna Perdikaki finished 5th at the World Tour event on Ios Island.

As of 2024, she has signed with Panathinaikos, the reigning Greek champion, where she is currently competing. She won the silver at the Nomikeia 2024/2025 and finished 5th at the Greek Cup. With Panathinaikos played at the Challenge Cup, but reached the Round of 32.
